Shop Manager | Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Manistee seeking Shop Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production schedules and resource allocation to meet manufacturing targets.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality control standards across the shop floor.
• Manage and develop a team of production staff, including performance reviews and training.
• Optimize operational workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with procurement and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company policies.
• Manage shop equipment maintenance and repair schedules to minimize downtime.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing shop floor supervision
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team of 15+ production staff
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management
• Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
