Salary Range: $48,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the East Lansing region seeking Quality Inspectors. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify product specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures and quality documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant certification (e.g., ASQ CQT) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
  • Experience with various inspection tools and methodologies, including CMM, optical comparators, and destructive testing.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with ERP systems and quality management software.
