Salary Range: $48,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Plainwell that are seeking Quality Inspectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify product specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks according to established quality plans.
  • Assist in the development and revision of inspection procedures and quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred
  • 2+ years experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Familiarity with various measurement tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM)
  • Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non-conformances

Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
  • ASQ certification (e.g., CQA, CQI)
  • Experience with various metrology tools beyond standard gauges (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
  • Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC)
