Incoming Inspection Technician | Rockford, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Rockford that are seeking skilled Incoming Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system, including non-conformances.
• Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating appropriate corrective action requests.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues and improve material quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area, ensuring equipment is calibrated and in good working order.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Associate's degree preferred.
• 2+ years experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T experience a plus).
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances accurately.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with optical comparators, CMMs, or other automated inspection equipment.
• Familiarity with PPAP, FAI, and other quality documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification.
• Experience with ERP systems for quality data entry.
