Salary Range: $79,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Portage that are seeking skilled HR Managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws and company objectives.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for a diverse manufacturing workforce.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
  • Facilitate performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Drive training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven knowledge of employment law (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA) and HR best practices
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing setting

Bonus Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language relevant to the local workforce
  • Proven track record of implementing and optimizing HRIS systems
  • Background in labor relations or unionized environments
