Salary Range: $86,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Jenison that are seeking Laser Weld Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld defects.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Establish and maintain laser welding process documentation, including work instructions and specifications.
• Conduct training for production personnel on laser welding techniques and safety.
• Evaluate and recommend new laser welding equipment and technologies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, Welding).
• 3+ years experience in laser welding processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weldability of various alloys.
• Proficiency in programming and operating laser welding systems (e.g., Trumpf, IPG).
• Experience with weld quality inspection techniques and root cause analysis.
• Ability to design and optimize welding fixtures and tooling.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software for fixture design.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize laser welding processes.
• Knowledge of material science, particularly related to weldability of various alloys.
