Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across St. Johns seeking Laser Weld Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixturing.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Conduct material characterization and metallurgical analysis of welded components.
• Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.
• Provide technical expertise and training to production personnel on laser welding techniques.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in laser welding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, weld joint design, and material science related to laser welding.
• Experience with process optimization, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis in a production setting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with fiber laser welding systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize weld processes.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
