Inventory Control Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in East Lansing seeking experienced Inventory Control Managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Oversee regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories, investigating and reconciling variances.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and warehousing to optimize material flow and reduce lead times.
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of the inventory management system (ERP/WMS).
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a team of inventory control specialists.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in inventory management or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing and optimizing inventory control systems (e.g., ERP, WMS).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
  • Experience with advanced inventory optimization software (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder)
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM)
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems beyond basic inventory modules (e.g., SAP EWM, Oracle SCM)
  • Experience implementing or optimizing RFID technology for inventory tracking
