Lean Manufacturing Engineer | Grand Haven, MI
Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Haven that are seeking skilled Lean Manufacturing Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies (e.g., VSM, Kaizen, 5S).
- Analyze production processes and identify areas for waste reduction and efficiency gains.
- Implement and sustain Lean tools and principles across manufacturing operations.
- Develop and deliver training programs on Lean manufacturing concepts to employees.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and resolve production issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the impact of Lean improvements.
- Lead problem-solving efforts using structured methodologies (e.g., A3, Root Cause Analysis).
- Design and optimize manufacturing layouts for improved material flow and productivity.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical) or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience implementing Lean principles and tools (e.g., VSM, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work) in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects resulting in measurable improvements (e.g., cost reduction, lead time reduction, quality improvement).
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, A3, DMAIC).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
Bonus Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim)
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in a high-volume, continuous improvement environment
