Inspection Technician | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kentwood that are seeking skilled Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product specifications.
- Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems and maintain detailed records.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct first-article inspections and in-process checks to monitor manufacturing processes.
- Operate specialized inspection equipment, including CMMs or optical comparators, as required.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, or a related technical field
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficient in using various inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformities
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CMM or other automated inspection equipment.
- ASQ certifications (e.g., CMI, CQIA).
- Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
