HR Generalist | Traverse City, MI
Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking HR Generalists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
- Administers employee benefits programs and responds to inquiries regarding eligibility and coverage.
- Conducts employee relations investigations and provides guidance on disciplinary actions.
- Maintains accurate HR records and generates reports for management as needed.
- Develops and implements HR policies and procedures to support organizational goals.
- Assists with workers' compensation claims and safety initiatives.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
- Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) relevant to the local workforce
- Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
