EHS Manager | Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Lansing region seeking EHS Managers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
• Provide EHS training to employees at all levels, including new hire orientation and specialized safety programs.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure proper record-keeping in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Oversee the facility's emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into facility operations and new projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are highly preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop EHS training programs.
• Proficiency in EHS software platforms for data management and reporting.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
