Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Newaygo that are seeking Design Engineers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and tests manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Creates detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for fabrication.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications.
• Conducts feasibility studies and risk assessments for new designs.
• Troubleshoots and resolves design-related issues during production.
• Implements design changes to improve product performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Develops and maintains design documentation, including BOMs and technical specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining).
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for design validation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design validation.
• Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for automation or data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives or lean manufacturing practices.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles beyond core responsibilities.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems beyond basic CAD integration.
