Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Montague, MI
Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with multiple companies in Montague seeking experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees, covering topics such as hazard communication and emergency response.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal programs and maintain accurate records of waste generation and disposal.
- Maintain and update EHS documentation, including permits, licenses, and safety data sheets.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate EHS best practices into manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
- 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Experience conducting hazard assessments, risk analyses, and developing control measures.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate EHS training programs
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in EHS software platforms
