Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines.
• Create detailed setup sheets and tooling lists for CNC machine operators.
• Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and ensure part quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to troubleshoot and resolve programming issues.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies for various materials and part geometries.
• Perform post-processing of CAM generated tool paths to create machine-specific G-code.
• Maintain and update a library of CNC programs and related documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in G-code programming and M-code functions for 3-axis (minimum) CNC mills.
• Demonstrated experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM) for toolpath generation.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, including tooling selection, cutting parameters, and workholding strategies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with part setup, program proving, and troubleshooting on CNC milling machines.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis programming.
• Familiarity with CAM software beyond primary expertise (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM).
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with in-process inspection and metrology (e.g., CMM, laser probes).
