Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialist | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in East Lansing seeking experienced Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Process high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
• Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and promptly.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and initiate collection efforts.
• Apply customer payments and resolve unapplied cash issues.
• Maintain accurate vendor and customer master data.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or receivable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated understanding of general accounting principles.
• Experience with high-volume invoice processing and reconciliation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Exposure to international trade and multi-currency transactions
• Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in a manufacturing context
