Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling machines using CAM software.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding fixtures based on material, part geometry, and machine capabilities.
  • Create detailed setup sheets, tooling lists, and operational instructions for machine operators.
  • Perform program simulations and verifications to ensure accuracy, collision avoidance, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Troubleshoot and debug existing CNC programs to resolve machining issues and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and machinists to refine part designs for manufacturability and process optimization.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
  • Expertise in G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis milling.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cutting tools, workholding strategies, and machining best practices.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 5-axis programming or advanced surfacing techniques.
  • Proficiency in post-processor editing and customization.
  • Familiarity with CMM programming or metrology software.
  • Experience designing custom workholding or fixtures.
