Salary Range: $43,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations according to blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Inspect and test welds for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and setting up fixtures.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, troubleshooting minor issues as they arise.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures using various welding techniques.
  • Record production data, including weld parameters and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve technical challenges and improve welding processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining welding equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to welding.
  • Certification in relevant welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1) is a plus.

Bonus Qualifications

  • - Experience with automated welding systems (e.g., robotic welding, submerged arc)
  • - Certification in specific welding processes (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.3)
  • - Familiarity with NDT methods like visual inspection (VT), dye penetrant (PT), or magnetic particle (MT)
  • - Basic understanding of metallurgy and material science relevant to welding applications
  • - Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and weld symbols
