Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform complex machining operations, setups, and programming.
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior machinists and apprentices.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections of machined parts to ensure adherence to specifications and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machining processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in scheduling and prioritizing machining tasks to meet production deadlines.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience (5+ years) as a skilled machinist, including both CNC and manual machining.
  • Proven proficiency in G-code programming, CAM software, and interpreting complex engineering blueprints.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including supervising, training, and mentoring junior machinists.
  • Strong understanding of metrology, quality control processes, and precision measurement tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machining issues and optimize production processes.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360) for programming and optimization.
  • Experience operating and/or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for quality inspection.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to train and mentor junior machinists in advanced techniques and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management.
