Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
  • Manage and supervise a team of shop floor employees, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, implementing and enforcing safety procedures.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain inventory levels of materials and supplies, placing orders as needed.
  • Inspect work in progress and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and management to implement process improvements and new initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of production processes and machinery.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a crew.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address production issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with management, employees, and other departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.

Bonus Qualifications

  • - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • - Proficiency in a specific ERP or MES system relevant to the industry
  • - Certification in a relevant trade or technical field (e.g., welding, machining, electrical)
  • - Experience with preventative maintenance scheduling and execution
