Lean Manufacturing Engineer | Hart, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement (Kaizen) events to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and eliminate waste (Muda) across all manufacturing operations using lean methodologies.
  • Implement and sustain lean tools such as 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban systems.
  • Develop, document, and enforce standard work procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and coaching to manufacturing personnel on lean principles and tools.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving throughout the organization.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
  • 3-5 years of experience implementing Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, SMED, and Standard Work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience leading and facilitating continuous improvement projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
