Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models to define precise measurement strategies.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and generate comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Troubleshoot and debug CMM programs, probes, and measurement setups to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve part quality.
  • Maintain CMM equipment, including routine calibration and preventative maintenance.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, support root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Experience with CMM operation, setup, and fixture design.
  • Knowledge of metrology principles and quality control standards in manufacturing.

Bonus Qualifications

  • GD&T Certification (ASME Y14.5)
  • Proficiency with multiple CMM software platforms (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
  • Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners)
  • CAD manipulation skills for fixture design or model interrogation
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles
