Shipping & Receiving Lead | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $50,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in East Lansing that are seeking Shipping & Receiving Leads. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead and train a team of shipping and receiving personnel.
• Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
• Coordinate with production, sales, and logistics to meet shipping schedules.
• Implement and maintain safety protocols and compliance with transportation regulations.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve shipping and receiving issues and discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership experience, including training, coaching, and performance management.
• Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems for inventory management and transaction processing.
• Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain processes, and inventory control best practices.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for inventory management and transaction processing.
• Forklift certification and experience with various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, reach trucks).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
• Basic understanding of HazMat regulations and safe handling procedures for hazardous materials.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance or troubleshooting on shipping equipment (e.g., label printers, scales).
