Salary Range: $84,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Manistee seeking IATF Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain IATF 16949 compliant quality management systems and processes.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external IATF 16949 audits, including customer and certification audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
  • Manage and resolve customer quality concerns, including root cause analysis, corrective actions (8D), and preventative measures.
  • Facilitate and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions for new and revised products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introduction (NPI) to ensure quality requirements are met from design to launch.
  • Conduct supplier quality assessments and support supplier development activities to ensure compliance with IATF 1699 and customer-specific requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years experience in quality engineering within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with IATF 16949 standards and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Proven ability to lead problem-solving initiatives using methodologies like 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams.
  • ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSBB) are highly desirable.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience with AIAG core tools beyond APQP (e.g., FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP)
  • Familiarity with specific customer quality portals and requirements (e.g., Ford Q1, GM BIQS)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior quality personnel
