HR Manager | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Byron Center that are seeking skilled HR Managers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to manufacturing operations.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for production and office staff, including onboarding and orientation.
  • Administer employee relations, including grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning within the manufacturing sector.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and manufacturing-specific regulations.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for all employees, focusing on safety, compliance, and skill enhancement.
  • Manage HR information systems and maintain accurate employee records.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
  • Proven experience with talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS systems.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance within a manufacturing setting.

Bonus Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage HRIS systems
  • Proven track record in labor relations and union contract negotiations
