Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test packaging solutions for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to define packaging requirements and specifications.
  • Optimize packaging designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, sustainability, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Conduct material selection, vendor qualification, and performance testing of packaging components.
  • Develop and maintain packaging specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot packaging-related issues and implement corrective actions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company quality requirements for packaging.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, glass, metals) and their properties.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize packaging for cost, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software for packaging design.
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with ISTA testing procedures and equipment.
  • Project management certification or experience leading cross-functional teams.
