Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and tests packaging for new and existing products.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging meets product, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
• Selects appropriate packaging materials and equipment, considering cost, quality, and sustainability.
• Conducts packaging performance testing to validate designs and ensure product protection.
• Optimizes packaging processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
• Develops and maintains packaging specifications, standards, and documentation.
• Troubleshoots packaging-related issues on the production line and implements corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for package design and analysis.
• Demonstrated understanding of various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, corrugated) and their applications.
• Experience with packaging line machinery, automation, and optimizing packaging processes for efficiency and cost.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and quality control principles related to packaging.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software for packaging design.
• ISTA certification or experience with packaging performance testing.
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices (e.g., recyclability, compostability, reduced waste).
• Familiarity with automation and robotics in packaging processes.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or demonstrated experience leading complex packaging initiatives.
