Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Walker that are seeking Laser Weld Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld fixtures and tooling.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Conduct process capability studies and maintain process control documentation.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel on laser welding techniques.
• Evaluate and select appropriate laser welding equipment and materials.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Materials Science, Mechanical, Welding) or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weldability of various alloys.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld specifications.
• Experience with process development, optimization, and troubleshooting of laser welding applications.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with automation and robotic systems, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to perform basic programming or script modifications (e.g., for PLC or robot control).
• Knowledge of material science and metallurgy, specifically related to laser-material interaction.
• Experience with vision systems for weld inspection or guidance.
