Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and procure tooling and fixtures for laser welding applications.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and weldability of components.
• Conduct material characterization and weldability studies to support process development.
• Train production personnel on laser welding equipment operation and process control.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laser welding equipment, including preventative maintenance.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and applications within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in laser weld parameter development, optimization, and troubleshooting for various material types.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical principles related to laser welding, including defect analysis and material characterization.
• Experience with CAD software and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with fiber laser welding systems.
• Familiarity with robotic welding integration and programming.
• Knowledge of metallurgy and material science related to welding.
• Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with vision systems for weld inspection or guidance.
