EHS Manager | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risks.
• Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage EHS training programs for all employees, ensuring proper understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
• Oversee hazardous waste management and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal.
• Maintain and update EHS recordkeeping and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and new projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems.
• Experience with hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Enablon).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• OSHA Outreach Trainer certification for General Industry.
