Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Paw Paw that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Optimizes existing production lines for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Creates detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for fabrication.
• Conducts simulations and analyses to validate design concepts.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams from concept to implementation.
• Troubleshoots and resolves design-related production issues.
• Selects appropriate materials and components based on performance requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software beyond basic modeling, such as advanced surfacing or generative design.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for design validation.
• Demonstrated ability to apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Proficiency in a programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for automation or data analysis.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering change management processes.
