Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Zeeland seeking Design Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborates with manufacturing to optimize designs for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develops detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material using CAD software.
• Conducts design reviews and implements feedback from cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Performs calculations and simulations to validate design integrity and performance.
• Investigates and resolves design-related manufacturing issues and non-conformances.
• Creates and maintains design documentation, including design change requests and engineering change orders.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining).
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks PDM or other PLM software.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Demonstrated ability to perform FEA simulations.
• Experience with scripting or programming for design automation (e.g., Python, VBA).
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping technologies (e.g., 3D printing).
