Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Holt, MI
Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Holt that are seeking skilled Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, fostering a safety culture.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage hazardous waste programs and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal.
- Maintain EHS documentation, records, and reporting in accordance with internal and external requirements.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate EHS best practices into manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and develop effective EHS training programs.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate EHS training programs
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in EHS software platforms
