Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grand Haven that are seeking CNC Lathe Programmers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for Lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine machining processes.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and fixtures for each operation.
• Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure accuracy and prevent collisions.
• Optimize tool paths and cutting parameters to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and refine programs.
• Document program changes, setup instructions, and tooling lists.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in G-code and M-code programming for 2-axis CNC lathes.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering blueprints, including GD&T.
• Strong understanding of tooling selection, insert grades, and cutting parameters for various materials (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, plastics).
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM) for generating toolpaths.
• Knowledge of machine setup, offsets, and first-piece inspection processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs for efficiency and quality.
