Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize lead times.
• Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and material costs to inform purchasing decisions and strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and components to support manufacturing schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of supply.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle
• APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP)
• Proven track record of cost savings initiatives
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints
