Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Program CNC mills using CAD/CAM software to generate machine code.
  • Design and optimize tool paths for efficient material removal and surface finish.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
  • Conduct dry runs and first article inspections to validate programs.
  • Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs to resolve machining issues.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and organize a library of CNC programs and related documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
  • Expertise in G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated experience in tooling selection, fixturing design, and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of various materials and their machinability properties.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 5-axis machining or multi-tasking machines.
  • Proficiency in a CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for model creation and modification.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with post-processor development or customization.
