Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize welding processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement welding procedures, specifications, and standards.
• Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for various manufacturing applications.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Train and qualify welding personnel to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability of new products and components.
• Monitor welding performance, analyze data, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, codes (e.g., AWS, ASME), and standards.
• Proficiency in welding inspection techniques and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Experience with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques like phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) or computed radiography (CR).
• - Familiarity with robotic welding programming and optimization.
• - Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, CWI).
• - Knowledge of metallurgy and material science specific to exotic alloys or high-temperature applications.
• - Experience with welding process simulation software.
