Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including overtime, shift differentials, and bonuses.
  • Manage and reconcile timekeeping data from manufacturing floor systems, resolving discrepancies prior to payroll processing.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, including FLSA regulations.
  • Administer and process all payroll deductions, including benefits, 401(k), and garnishments.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2s, 941s).
  • Resolve employee payroll inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Perform payroll general ledger reconciliations and assist with internal and external audits.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience processing multi-state payroll for 200+ employees, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with major payroll/HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Kronos) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of time and attendance systems, shift differentials, and overtime calculations common in manufacturing.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience processing payroll for a unionized workforce.
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos, UKG Time).
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing for a distributed workforce.
  • Exposure to HRIS/Payroll modules within large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
