Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, verification, and adjustment of precision measuring equipment and gauges.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections of manufactured parts, tooling, and assemblies using CMMs, optical comparators, and hand tools.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of calibration activities, inspection results, and equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment functionality and accuracy.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to ensure conformance of parts.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of metrology processes, procedures, and measurement techniques.
  • Generate detailed reports on measurement data, non-conformances, and calibration status.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience operating, programming, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners).
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles, calibration techniques, and measurement uncertainty.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and relevant industry standards.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced CMM programming languages (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS) beyond basic operation.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process capability studies and data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with calibration management software (e.g., Gage Crib, IndySoft, Prolink) for asset tracking and scheduling.
  • GD&T certification (e.g., ASME GDTP) or demonstrated expertise in complex GD&T interpretation and application.
