Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Montague seeking Tool Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and repair precision tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Operate and program various machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment.
• Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications.
• Perform precision measurements using a variety of metrology tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance on existing tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool design and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tool Maker or in a precision machining role.
• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Solid understanding of various metal properties, heat treatment, and tooling materials.
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational training in tool and die making.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
• Experience with CNC programming and machine setup.
• Demonstrated experience in precision welding or heat treatment processes.
• Familiarity with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
