Salary Range: $84,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing processes and products comply with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead APQP and PPAP activities for new product introductions and engineering changes.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions using problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Conduct internal product, process, and system audits to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor key quality performance indicators and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and scrap.
  • Interface with customers on quality issues, concerns, and corrective action requests.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in an IATF 16949 certified manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standard and automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions using methodologies like 8D or 5 Whys.
  • Experience in conducting internal and/or supplier quality audits, including audit planning and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for continuous improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Experience with VDA standards or specific OEM customer quality requirements (e.g., GM BIQS, Ford Q1)
