Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures (WPS) and qualification records (PQR) to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Oversee welding operations, troubleshoot welding defects, and implement corrective actions.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Train and qualify welders, ensuring adherence to safety standards and welding specifications.
• Conduct welding-related training and continuous improvement initiatives for the welding team.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize product design for weldability.
• Manage and maintain welding equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning.
• Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, weldability of various materials, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API) and their application in manufacturing.
• Experience with welding automation and robotic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding-related defects.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced welding processes such as electron beam welding, friction stir welding, or laser welding.
• - Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results.
• - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
