Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain welding procedures and specifications to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Oversee welding operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance to welding personnel.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Conduct root cause analysis of weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimize weldments for manufacturability and performance.
• Train and mentor welders and technicians on best practices and new welding technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend new welding equipment and technologies to improve productivity and quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW) and their applications.
• Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their implementation.
• Experience with welding inspection techniques and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in welding simulation software and CAD/CAM tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced welding processes like electron beam welding or friction stir welding.
• - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their application to welding operations.
• - Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods relevant to welding.
• - Experience with robotic welding system programming and optimization.
• - Knowledge of metallurgy and material science as it pertains to weldability of exotic alloys.
