CNC Machinist | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery (mills, lathes, grinders).
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts onto machines.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to maintain part quality.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to ensure production efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for program editing and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of various machining materials and cutting tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM)
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM operation)
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance or minor machine troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
