Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare detailed cost reports.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Perform variance analysis for production costs, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
• Manage inventory valuation and reconciliation for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cost forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives within production.
• Participate in month-end close activities related to COGS, inventory, and production variances.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods
• Demonstrated ability to analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles relevant to manufacturing operations

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, advanced Excel modeling)
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
• Prior involvement in ERP system implementation, migration, or significant optimization projects
• Professional certification such as CMA or relevant Lean/Six Sigma certification
