Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
• Collaborates with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate quotes.
• Develops and maintains a comprehensive database of cost data for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Identifies and evaluates cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or manufacturing processes.
• Prepares detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation for internal review and customer presentations.
• Participates in bid review meetings to ensure competitiveness and profitability of proposals.
• Monitors market trends and supplier pricing to ensure current and accurate cost estimations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost tracking and data analysis.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for reviewing technical drawings.
• Project management experience, particularly in a manufacturing or engineering context.
