Salary Range: $54,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train junior machinists on equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machinery for complex part production.
• Perform quality control inspections to ensure manufactured parts meet specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including tool wear, material defects, and machine malfunctions.
• Optimize machining processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and improved product quality.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new products and refine existing designs.
• Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on machining equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to program, set up, and operate various CNC machinery (mills, lathes)
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming
• Experience with manual machining techniques and equipment
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop setting
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior machinists and apprentices.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Familiarity with a variety of materials beyond standard metals, such as composites or exotic alloys.
