Salary Range: $86,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Norton Shores that are seeking skilled IATF Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IATF 16949 compliant quality management system processes and procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits and manage external certification audits to ensure ongoing IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Lead problem-solving activities using core tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) for customer complaints and internal non-conformances.
  • Facilitate APQP activities, including FMEAs, Control Plans, and PPAP submissions for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Provide training and mentorship to manufacturing personnel on IATF 16949 requirements and quality tools.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their quality systems and products meet IATF 16949 and organizational requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in IATF 16949 standards and their practical application.
  • Strong knowledge of core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with AIAG core tools beyond APQP (e.g., FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP).
  • Black Belt or Green Belt Six Sigma certification.
  • Familiarity with other quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience with customer-specific requirements from major automotive OEMs.
