Incoming Inspection Technician | Wayland, MI
Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Wayland that are seeking Incoming Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documentation.
- Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly in the designated quality management system or logbooks.
- Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating appropriate corrective action requests or material review board processes.
- Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve supplier quality.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in quality control or incoming inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conforming materials.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CMM operation and/or programming.
- Familiarity with PPAP submissions and requirements.
- ASQ certification (e.g., CQT, CMQ/OE).
- Basic understanding of GD&T principles.
- Experience with various metrology tools beyond basic gauges (e.g., optical comparators, vision systems).
