Inspection Technician | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured products according to specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Utilize various measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, ensuring proper labeling and disposition.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Conduct first article inspections and provide feedback on manufacturing processes.
• Maintain inspection records and databases in compliance with quality management systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of various measurement tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM)
• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and identify defects
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
• Certification in a relevant field (e.g., ASNT NDT Level I or II)
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency in using statistical process control (SPC) software
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings/schematics
